Getting your documents attested in the Qatar Embassy

Where is the Philippine Qatar Embassy located? 

If you're planning to go to Qatar, it is a requirement that you have your documents authenticated or attested in their embassy here in the Philippines. Just recently, the embassy has changed location; they can now be found at #4 Santiago street lot 6, Paseo De Magallanes, Magallanes village Makati city.  A lot of applicants are still going to the old building which is located in Mckinley hill, Fort Bonifacio, only to find out that the embassy has transferred location.

So, how do we get there from the province like Tarlac, Baguio, Nueva Ecija and the like?

People from the province are sometimes having a hard time locating the embassy. It is not easy to travel 3 to 8 hours just to get there in time. As for me whose from Tarlac, I rode a bus bound for Pasay at 4:00 in the morning just to arrive in Cubao at around 6:00. You wouldn't want to get in a heavy traffic so it's better to wait for 3 more hours for the embassy to open. You can tell the conductor to drop you off in evangelista st., from there you will notice an overpass that will lead you to the Paseo De Magallanes village. 

What's the best time to go?

If you're asking what will be the best time to go there, it will be around 7:00 am. It's okay to arrive around 8:00 am but you'll surely be listed on the 35th onward and that would be a little risky since there is a cut off on the 50th person (this may depend on their mood).

What are the requirements that you should bring to avoid going back?

Processing your documents in the Qatari embassy isn't that hard; unless you don't follow instructions which they are very strict of. It is better to come prepared than to go home again and fix your requirements. Below are some of the requirements that may help you save time:






(Just read and check carefully the requirements shown on the pictures. I didn't get the chance to capture them properly because when we went there it's raining.)

Attestation requirements for Diploma and OTR:

  1. Original copy of your CHED and DFA Authenticated (red ribbon) diploma/otr.
  2. Prepare two copies each in an a4 size coupon bond. 
  3. No need to photocopy the front page (blue cover) because they will only get the photocopied otr and diploma.
  4. Bring your credit or debit card with MASTER & VISA LOGO. I repeat, bring only credit or debit card with MASTER & VISA LOGO. The embassy is not accepting cash payments nor card payments that doesn't have master/visa logo. They are very strict about this. In the past few years I think they allow riding in with other applicants to pay your attestation fee; but now, only first degree relative can let the applicant to use their card (Father/Mother, Daughter/Son).
  5. If you're using your father's card, he should also be present and have with him at least 2 valid ID's. 
  6. Don't forget to bring also your valid ID's just in case they look for it.
  7. If you're not the applicant, you should bring an authorization letter bearing his/her signature. Bring with you at least 2 valid ID's of the applicant and of course your own ID's.
After you paid for the attestation fee, they will advise you to come back after 3 days from the day of filing. Again, don't forget to bring valid ID's and authorization letter (if you're not the applicant). Bring with you the receipt they gave you in the cashier. Filing of documents are only entertained in the morning, getting of attested documents are scheduled in the afternoon.

There is also a nearby East West bank where you can apply for a card but take note, it takes 24hours to activate that card.


You should see this at the back of your document; this means that your papers are already attested/authenticated by the Qatar embassy.

      Hi grace, im going to repeat my comment i think there's an error not sure why its not posted.

      Anyways, i'm afraid they only allow first degree relative for the card matter. Otherwise, anyone can say that they are friends with those who have a master card. They are also checking the id's of the card holder.

      To be sure, its better to open a new debit card with master/visa logo. You wouldn't want to go back again if they rejected your card (Which happened to me) :p goodluck to you!:)

      Another question, I have an agency but I'll be the one who will process my nbi and tor/diploma? Is that possible?..according to my agency they will not allow me to process it. I need to process it on my own since my agency is asking for 6k just to process it..

      So your agency is asking for 6k just to process your documents? did they say that its necessary for them to process it? because I don't think that's right. OTR, DIPLOMA, and NBI clearance are your personal documents. You should be the one processing it. NBI clearance is only 150 pesos, OTR and diploma on the other hand will come from your school, you should be the one going to the registrars office to request for those.     It's my first time at the Qatar Embassy, my first consular transaction. I got to Paseo de Magallanes at 6:30am and found the area around the embassy empty thinking I was too early. So I went to Starbucks to buy coffee and came back after 15 minutes to find the area at the back of the embassy still empty. After a while, the security personnel finally noticed me and informed me that everyone is at the Magallanes Barangay Hall at the end of the street (towards Edsa). When I got there, I was 87th on the list, this was at around 7am. I got bumped up to 73rd when they finally handed out numbers, only because some people were not around when their names were called. One person said that the embassy allowed up to 70 applicants last week, others say that it depends on the security personnel's mood. My guess is it depends on how many people they can actually accommodate from 9am to 10:30am. A few women who were first in line were here since yesterday. They didn't make the cut off and opted to sleep on the barangay hall grounds under the tent, on spread out newspapers, instead of heading back to their home provinces. It's now 8am and there are about 90 people in line. Here's to hoping we all make it in so we won't have to come back tomorrow and fall in line all over again.

      Hi april, why would you go to the brgy hall? You mean brgy hall near the embassy right? I don't think so. Because you're going to get a number directly from the guard in the embassy,(based from experience). Goodluck!

      Hello danica,actually its a case to case basis. As for my experience, i had my documents stamped for my visa processing. The reason for that is first, it is expensive to have it stamped/attested here in qatar. If he is willing to spend for unreasonable prices then well and good. Second, they are now strict with the documents you're giving because some expats are caught falsifying documents. May i know what's his work? Anyway,goodluck and God bless! :)

      Hi Gretzel, sorry for the delay. With regards to TOR and diploma, i think yes. However for the Medical certificate (if that's what you mean with MC) i don't think so. Because medical exams are honored just months before you go here. Actually, when you arrived, your company will still schedule you for another medical exam. Goodluck! :)

    I need to have my NBI clearance attested from Qatar Embassy. DO I still need to submit it to the DFA for Red Ribbon before going to Qatar Embassy?

    Also, my school credentials (TOR Diploma) were authenticated in the year 2010, will they still accept these for attestation? Thanks!

    My brother and my mother already have their approved personal family visit visa. Four years ago, I sent my documents for stamping in Qatar Embassy via DHL in Bacolod City. But now, DHL does not cater this service anymore. So, my brother should come personally to Qatar Embassy to have this done.

    Question: is there a separate line in embassy just for visa stamping only? or all transactions will be on the same line. We already bought tickets because we didn't know that visa stamping is required. We only have 15 days to do this. But I believe that we can finish this on time.

      Hi, there's no separate line. Actually when you get there, you'll be given a number regardless of what documents you want to get stamped. Just a piece of advise, tell your brother to go there early because they are only accepting limited number of applicants.

    Im about to leave Philippines yesterday (april 3 2015) but i was declined because my Passport doesnt have Visa stamp from qatar embassy. and we were not informed that its required to have visa stamp.

      Hi Sharmaine, whoops sorry for that. Actually yes it is required. Sorry I'm not sure if they do rush visa stamping, but I don't think they offer that kind of service; because if they do, it will be posted in the embassy. Anyway, if you go there today for instance, they will tell you to come back day after tomorrow. So most likely it takes 3 days from the day of processing for you to get your stamped visa. If it's not rude to ask, why are you leaving only now that your visa is almost expired? kase when you get here, you will need to renew your visa again and exit Qatar.

      And a piece of advise, since you're rushing, bring all the required documents for you not to go back again, it will be a waste of time. Bring any card that has a master or visa logo on it, because they're not accepting cards without those logos.

      Hmmm. I mean my business visa will expire on june 9 2015. I got confused. What is the "1 month stay duration" is it pag stay ko sa qatar or pag stay ko sa dto sa pinas prior sa date issued ng visa. Kasi last week pinarush ang booking ko kasi need ko na daw maka punta ng qatar kasi mag 1 month na daw ung visa ko.

      So i rebooked my flight just to settle this visa stamping -.- the requirements are. Visa notice. Passport. 2x2 Picture with white bg (hmm whats the diff bet. 2x2 id pic and 2x2 passport? Cause i only have here 2x2 id pic) when it comes to the payment. Theres no problem with it since my mom has a debit card with logo (eastwest)

      Hi sharmaine, actually hindi po 2x2 ang sakto ang size ng passport photo e. :) pag nagpapicture po kayo iclear nyo na passport size.

      With regards to the expiration date naman po, the day na narelease ang visa nyo, tumatakbo na ung araw. So mas maganda na makapunta na po kayo agad dito, mahirap po maghanap din ng trbaho. Lalo na pag malapit n mag expire ang visa, kc iggrab nyo na ung offer kahit mababa kung pa expire na ang visa.

      If you're going to use your mom's card, kailangan kasama mo sya. Bring 2 id copies narin para sure :)

    Pwede po kaya ang BPI Express Gift Card na may Mastercard Logo? nakita ko po kasi sa site ng BPI na may inooffer silang card na reloable walang maintaining balance... Pwede po kaya ito pang bayad sa Qatar Visa stamping? since may Mastercard Logo naman sya

    Is the express BDO debit card accepted. This card has a mastercard logo with no name of the card holder but has sa signature of the card owner on the back side.

      Hello justin, sorry for the late reply. anyways, sa tingin ko hindi na. Kasi when i went there for the stamping may mga nakasabay ako na family visa and wala naman silang medical certificate. But i'm not 100% sure with that matter. Please confirm with the embassy, it will be much better if you're going to call them para hindi masayang time :)

      Hello po ma'am and sir, yes po pina prioritize naman po kung may kasamang bata. Kasi sa totoo lang po e mahihirapan po talaga mga bata at matatanda sa paghihintay at pag pila ng matagal.

Im with my 2 kids..sabi nung qatari next time wag na daw magsama ng bata.i dont know if it is necessary.but my ngsbi kse smin before kme pmnta ng embassy need ng personal appearance...and this week ppunta ulit kme embassy.issama ko n lng ulit anak ko pra maprioritize kme.hehe

      Hi sir, matanong ko lang po, valid pa po ba ung previous visa nyo? kasi kung valid pa po, i think no need na po ipa stamp ulit. pero kung expired na po at bagong visa na po yan, sa tingin ko po kailangan ipa stamp ulit.

      Ung validity po ng visa nyo is ung length nang pagpnta nyo dto. Pagdating nyo dto another 3 months ulit ang tatakbuhin ng validity nya, kug naka business visa po kayo. Goodluck po!

    Question po, ano pagkakaiba ng return permit/balik-manggagawa sa workig visa stamping? Nagwork na po kasi ako sa Qatar at natapos ko na contract ko. Ngayon po babalik na po ko sa dati kong employer. Meron na kong bagong visa notice and contract. Ano pong kailngan ko? Return permit po ba or kailangan ko pastamp ng working visa? Thank you po

      Yes po, much better paki double check po yung image na inupload ko nandun po lahat ng details at requirements. Based on my experience nung time na nag pprocess ako ng documents may iba akong nakasabayan na hindi sila yung mismong taong concern, nagaayos lang din sila para sa relatives nila. Kailangan lang po talaga may authorization letter. Pero that's way back 2014 po, hindi ko lang po sure ngayon kung ganun parin.

      Hi edcely! If your employer will ask you to go through an agency, then they will tell you what to do next. Sorry I can't advise you regarding that because I myself didn't go through an agency; I went to singapore first as a tourist since my company can't afford to wait for too long. They provided me all the documents that I need (Working visa) so it went smooth.

      As far as I can remember po, I paid 350 for each document. I had my OTR, NSO, NBI, and Diploma attested only, since i can't have my visa stamped on my passport because I'll be needing to pass through the Philippine immigration without going through POEA. Hope this helps po. Goodluck!

Kailangan nyo pong magamit ang visa papasok ng qatar within 1 month from its expiration, then kung tourist visa (not sure kung ilang months ang allowed/length nya) for example 3 mos. from it's expiration mgreresume sa araw na dumating kayo ng qatar.       Yes sir kailangan po talaga ang visa stamp lalo na kung direct flight kau papunta s qatar. Details po about visa stamping ay makikita sa taas. Hndi po sa qatar manggagaling ang stamp nyo, dito po s philppine embassy.

    I'm an OFW working in Qatar for more than 6 years. Recently, i lost my passport with valid working visa. Now, i got my new passport. My reentry visa is currently being processed in Qatar and soon i will be receiving it via email. Can anyone advise me if it is required to bring it to Qatar Embassy for visa stamping? Need your advise please. Is it really require for someone who lost his passport? I have a flight sched on Aug 20 which might be cancelled because of 3-day processing as stated above.

      Hi, I think it's better if you'll bring the original one and bring a copy, so if in case they asked for the original, you can hand it easily. If you're going to Qatar just to visit, then no need to have other documents like OTR, Diploma, NBI, etc. to be authenticated. But for sure, you need to have your NSO birth certificate copy be authenticated if it's a family visit visa. Goodluck and God bless!

      Hello ma'am, yes po pwedeng pwede. Pero ma'am, piece of advise lang, kung magpapa authenticate din naman po kayo at magpapa stamp ng passport, why not do it all together. Less hassle at less expense, lalo na po kung galing pa kayo sa malayo. Mahirap po pumila ng ilang oras para maghintay na magbukas ang embassy.

      Hello po, actually ang sagot po jan is yes/no depende sa kung anong pakay nyo papunta sa Qatar.
      Bakit yes?
      Hindi po kayo makakalabas ng bansa natin kung hndi naka stamp ang visa nyo sa passport, lalo na po kung ang ticket nyo is direct manila/clark to doha.
      Kung magttrabaho po kayo dito, at ang company na napasukan nyo ang ng provide ng visa nyo kailangan nyo pong dumaan ng embassy para sa stamping, poea, magpa medical at kung ano ano pa.
      Bakit no?
      kung dadaan naman po kayo ng singapore/hongkong, hndi nyo na po kailangan magpa stamp ng visa since visa free po tayo sa mga bansang iyan. From singapore/hongkong dun nyo na po pwede ilabas ang visa nyo to Qatar.

      Hindi naman po sa tinuturuan ko kayo ng illegal, pero kung pupunta kayo ng Qatar with working visa at dumaan kayo sa tamang process, kailangan nyo po magpa stamp. kc hnd kayo makakalabas ng immig kung walang stamped visa passport nyo. kung naman sinasabi sainyo na no need ipa stamp, then meaning hndi nyo idedeclare sa immig na pupunta kayo ng qatar.

      mahirap po kasi ma off-load. masasayang lang ang pagod at pera na ininvest nyo sa ticket at other documents.

    good day po ask ko lang nung time kasi na magpapasa ako sa aagency namin ng red ribbon for them to process sabi nila for the mean time hindi daw muna sila nag pprocess ng red ribbon ng mga applicant for whatever reason they have, except for the red ribboned NBI clearance. however, school prc and work credential na pina red ribbon kami daw mag pprocess qatar embassy and when we get there sabihin daw namin for personal filing ano ano po ba kailangan ko dalin other than red ribboned credentials and its photocopies? thank you

      Hello, based on my experience, personal po ang pagaasikaso ng attestation sa embassy kung attestation ang sinasabi nyo. Kc ang red ribbon po ay iba sa attestation sa qatar embassy.

      Ang documents po na dadalin nyo sa qatar embassy for attestation ay dapat naka red ribbon na.

      My separate line po ang mga nag pprocess na dumaan sa agency :) pag nagtawag na po ng number, ihihiwalay ang mga may agency.

      Regarding sa mga documents na dadalin nyo they are all stated above po. :) goodluck!

      hello po, yung business visa po ba is galing sa isang company dito sa Qatar? or binili lang po ng family or friend para kayo makapasok dito? Kung galing po sya mismo sa isang company at talagang business pakay nyo sa pagpunta sa qatar, then opo kailangan nyo po sya ipa stamp.

      But if it's the other way around, wag nyo na pong ipa stamp. mag backdoor nalang po kayo dahil my chance na ma offload kayo sa immigration.

    For documents to be attested ano po ba ung kailangan ipa photocopy, ung mismong docs like the TOR or diploma, etc or un pong galing ng dfa na papel na may red ribbon na.. thanks po!

      Attestation requirements for Diploma and OTR as stated above:

      1. Original copy of your CHED and DFA Authenticated (red ribbon) diploma/otr.
      2. Prepare two copies each in an a4 size coupon bond.
      3. No need to photocopy the front page (blue cover) because they will only get the photocopied otr and diploma.
      4. Bring your credit or debit card with MASTER & VISA LOGO. I repeat, bring only credit or debit card with MASTER & VISA LOGO. 5.The embassy is not accepting cash payments nor card payments that doesn't have master/visa logo. They are very strict about this. In the past few years I think they allow riding in with other applicants to pay your attestation fee; but now, only first degree relative can let the applicant to use their card (Father/Mother, Daughter/Son).
      If you're using your father's card, he should also be present and have with him at least 2 valid ID's.
      Don't forget to bring also your valid ID's just in case they look for it.
      If you're not the applicant, you should bring an authorization letter bearing his/her signature. Bring with you at least 2 valid ID's of the applicant and of course your own ID's.

He filed a Permanent Residence in Canada and one of the requirements is his Qatar Police Clearance since he worked there last 2009 up to 2011. We have to submit it on or before November 30, 2015.       Hi ma'am, sorry for the late response. I'm not really sure about processing Qatar police clearance if he's out of the country. But what i know is if he's here, he will be needing an authenticated NBI clearance from PH then he will be giving it to CID to process his police clearance.

    When for filing or stamping of red ribbon documents make sure that they are recent. In my own experience just today, my red ribbon documents last 2014 was no longer accepted. They said it was expired already (PRC rating, Diploman, TOR, etc.). Luckily DFA is accepting renewal of red ribbon without going through the whole process of filing at the PRC and school. Just go to the DFA and fill up the same form (blue form) without removing the old red ribbon form.

      Based on my experience, after my interview sa skype and sending my passport, I waited for more than a month bago ko na receive ang 1-page contract stating the salary offer and other benefits. Kung okay sayo, you will sign it and send it back to them. Tapos, hintay naman ng 4-5 weeks bago dumating ang visa. Direct hire din ako.

    Just want to keep you updated about attestation of docs in Qatar Embassy Manila.

    This blog post is no longer updated due to the fact that I went to Qatar Embassy Manila last week and told me that in order to attest your docs to Qatar Embassy, you must go to any DHL offices accredited/affiliated by Qatar Embassy this is mainly because the embassy doesnt accept attestation directly from applicants. Applicants should directly go to any DHL offices (they have the list, I went to DHL SM Fairview) in order to get your docs attested by Qatar Embassy. Surprisingly, it was not hassle at all, applied on Thursday and got my attested docs on Saturday the same week.

      Hi Ali! gusto ko lang itanong, nagbibigay po ba ng NOC ang amo nyo? Kasi kung nagbibigay po sya ng NOC (No objection certificate) pwedeng pwede po kayo bumalik ng Qatar.Kung hindi naman po sya ngbibigay ng NOC, banned po kayo for 2 years. Kasi until now po hindi parin naipapasa talaga ung amendment sa law nila kung saan hindi na kailangan ng NOC ng mga expats para makabalik sa Qatar o makapaglipat ng company.

      I just got a job recently and need work permit only as I am under a family visa. I only have Transcript of Record with me which was issued by the University last 1999 with its seal. Do i have to get a new one? Do I still have to get a Certificate from Ched or TOR is enough. The TOR is not stamped. Only sealed by the University and also still not with red ribbon. Kindly give me the steps what needs to be done and other requirements that I need for the work permit.

    Hi! I have a question. I already attested my documents in the Philippines before going here in Qatar. When my employer was asking for my requirements, she told me that I need to have it stamped/attested it in Philippine Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. So if I already have it attested in Qatar Embassy in the Philippines does it mean that I dont need to go to Ministry of Foreign Affairs because it was already attested by Qatar Embassy?     The above information on Qatar embassy attestation does not apply anymore. I recently visited Qatar embassy and was informed that they no longer accept attestation documents from walk in applicants. Rather, all attestations will have to be coursed through the DHL world wide express.

    Hi Tessa,

    First you need to have your PRC documents authenticated by DFA (red ribbon). After release of the DFA-authenticated documents, prepare 2 sets of photocopy (A4 size) and send the DFA-authenticated document together with the 2 sets of photocopy to DHL WWExpress. It will be sent to you in 3-4 business days. Hope this helps.
